During October, you will have seen the stunning digital pictures brought to you from the ringing room on Fair Isle. The Fair Isle camera was kindly loaned by optics expert and birder Trevor Codlin from the London Camera Exchange. | ||

As you can see from these two pictures, the magnification available is stunning. The view taken on the left is with the Nikon Coolpix 800 set on telephoto. On the right is the close up view using a 30x eyepiece. | ![]() |

These two pictures were video grabs from my Sony PC100 E. As you can see there is a fair amount of vignetting in the right hand picture. This could be easily removed using computer software. | ![]() |
